The Dual-Control Advantage
This controller acts as a universal bridge for 12V and Mains-powered addressable LED strips.
- IR Remote (Tactile Control): Perfect for guests or kids to use without needing an app. It offers dedicated buttons for brightness, speed, and the most popular "chase" patterns.
- Bluetooth App (Infinite Customization): By scanning the QR code on the controller, you can unlock features impossible on a standard remote, such as:
- Colour Picking: Choose from a spectrum of 16 million colours using a touch-sensitive wheel.
- Music Sync: The lights will "dance" to the music playing from your phone or sounds picked up by the phone's microphone.
- Schedule/Timers: Program your lights to turn on at sunset or off at a specific time.
How to Upgrade Your Current Setup
If you are replacing a standard 3-button or IR-only controller with this Bluetooth version, the process is usually "Plug-and-Play":
- Disconnect: Unplug your existing LED strip from its power source and remove the old white/black controller box.
- Match Pins: Ensure the 3-pin connector on your LED strip matches the layout of the new controller. Most Dream Chasing strips use a 3-pin JST connector (Data, Positive, Negative).
- Power Up: Plug in your 12V adapter or Mains transformer.
- The "Handshake": Open your phone's Bluetooth settings (ensure Bluetooth is ON) and open the recommended app. The app should automatically detect the "Magic" device.
Troubleshooting & Configuration
If you find the lights aren't behaving correctly after the upgrade, use these app settings:
- RGB Sequence: If you press Red and get Green, go to the "Settings" or "Modify Pin Sequence" in the app and cycle through options like RGB, GRB, or BRG until they match.
- IC Pixel Count: If only half the strip lights up, look for a "Total Pixels" setting in the app. Increase the number (usually to 50, 100, or 150) until the light reaches the very end of your strip.
- Remote Battery: If the IR remote isn't responding, check that the clear plastic battery tab has been removed. It uses a CR2025 battery, which is easily replaced by sliding out the tray at the bottom.
